The cover prevents pigment, blood, and bodily fluids from contacting the machine itself — critical for infection control and for protecting the machine from gradual fluid damage over its working life.
Pen covers complement barrier film as the second layer of machine protection. Where film protects flat surfaces, the cover wraps the cylindrical body of the pen, ensuring that the artist's grip area stays sealed.
